Table of Grace

 Central Texas Table of Grace is a non-profit organization that exists to provide emergency shelter services to the children and youth in the foster care system. Our mission is to create a loving, nurturing, homelike environment for displaced youth, providing shelter and healthy food as well as teaching healthy habits and life skills to the youth in our care..

Helping Children!

  • Feeling Safe

    Felt Safety means that you not only KNOW you're safe but you also FEEL safe. Most of the Table of Grace children have never felt safe. They're always in a state of fear or defense. In this shelter and in our mentoring programs we focus a lot of energy in making spaces that FEEL safe.

  • Building Trust

    When someone says "A child is attached" or "We are trying to build attachment" they mean they are trying to build trust and connection with their child. At risk children often come out of situations and into the Table of Grace shelter never really having felt deeply connected to anyone. We help them build connection.

  • You Matter

    This is a tough one! If a child is considered "Avoidant" it means that the Child's original caregivers neglected their basic needs like food, medical care, shelter and love. These kiddos often feel that in order for them to be loved they need to put their basic needs aside. We teach them that they matter.
