Other Ministries
CUMC is a church that always focuses on serving others, answering the call to nourish.
Other ministries that our church is involved in are:
-
Handspun Hope
Handspun Hope is a Christian organization providing holistic support to Africa's poorest through job creation, community building and spiritual counsel. They answer the call to care for the widow and orphan by providing care to the poorest women in Rwandan society.
-
Drive a Senior NW
We help our senior neighbors by driving, donating and volunteering in other ways such as providing handyman services or coordinating local events. Drive a Senior Northwest’s program model follows the Robert Woods Johnson model of “Neighbor Helping Senior Neighbor.”
-
Texas Wesley
They are a group of students who believe that a healthy spiritual life leads to a healthy identity, and that God’s love is compassionate, life-giving and includes everyone. Inclusive Love. Exploring Faith. Real Friendship. There are about 100+ students in small groups who meet weekly to connect.
-
Emancipet
Emancipet is on a mission to make veterinary care affordable and accessible for everyone. They manage an expanding national network of high-quality, low-cost clinics; and advocate for strategies and public policy that improve the lives of pets in underserved communities.
-
BackPacks for Students
We help out local schools by donating backpacks and other school supplies for students who need a helping hand to get all the items that are necessary for the school year. The education of all students is very important to our church. We do what we can to help local students.
-
Table of Grace
Central Texas Table of Grace provides emergency shelter services to the children and youth in the foster care system. Our mission is to create a loving, nurturing, homelike environment for displaced youth. CUMC helps by supporting Table of Grace 360.
UMCOR Global Ministries
UMCOR Global Ministries
The United Methodist Committee on Relief(UMCOR)
UMCOR is the global humanitarian aid and development organization of the United Methodist Church (UMC). UMCOR comes alongside those who suffer from natural or human-caused disasters – be it famine, hurricane, war, flood, fire or other events—to alleviate suffering and to be a source of help and hope for those left most vulnerable. They provide relief, response and long-term recovery grants when these events overwhelm a community’s ability to recover on their own. UMCOR also provides technical support and training for partners to address emerging and ongoing issues related to disaster relief, recovery, and long-term health and development. Our church supports this wonderful UMC Ministry.
